چکیده

In this article, we develop a set of partial differential equations describing the flow of a dusty fluid in variable porosity media. The developed equations take into account the effect of the porous microstructure on the flowing phases. We presented and overview of the equations governing the flow of a dusty gas in various type media, including that in naturally occurring porous media. Numerical techniques are used to solve the set of partial differential equations describing the flow for different values of the porous media parameters of interest. These parameters are the Forchheimr drag coefficient Cd, the permeability g and the Reynold number Re. 2003 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Mathematical Modelling of Dusty Gas Flow through Isotropic Porous Media with Forchheimer Effects

Dusty gas flow through isotropic porous media is considered. The equations governing dusty gas flow through free space are intrinsically averaged in order to derive a comprehensive model that describes flow of a dusty gas through porous media. The developed model is capable of describing flow of mixtures with non-uniform number density through variable porosity media, while taking into account ...

Mathematical Models of Dusty Gas Flow through Porous Media

This work reports on the recent advances in the continuum approach to dusty gas flow modeling through isotropic porous structures. This approach has received considerable attention over the last half century due to the need to develop dusty gas flow models capable of describing natural and industrial transport phenomena, including subsurface transport of dissolved or suspended particulates, des...

Lattice Gas Automata Simulation of Adsorption Process of Polymer in Porous Media

Lattice gas automata (LGA) model is developed to simulate polymer adsorption process by adding some collision rules. The simulation result of the model is matched with batch experiment and compared with accepted isothermal adsorption equations. They show that the model is viable to perform simulation of the polymer adsorption process. The LGA model is then applied for simulating continuous poly...

Modeling transient organic vapor transport in porous media with the dusty gas model

The dusty gas model constitutive relationships were incorporated into a numerical model for three-phase, multicomponent flow and transport in porous media. The dusty gas model properly accounts for interactions between all gas-phase species in multicomponent gas mixtures. The model also included Knudsen diffusion, which becomes important in very fine grained soils. The dusty gas model results w...

Gas-liquid Relative Permeability Estimation in 2D Porous Media by Lattice Boltzmann Method: Low Viscosity Ratio 2D LBM Relative Permeability

This work is a primary achievement in studying the CO2 and N2–oil systems. To predict gas-liquid relative permeability curves, a Shan-Chen type multicomponent multiphase lattice Boltzmann model for two-phase flow through 2D porous media is developed. Periodic and bounce back boundary conditions are applied to the model with the Guo scheme for the external body force (i.e.,...
